Boy it's been a long while since my last post. Life didn't stop on this end, it actually sped up and left me a little a bit confused about what to say about it all. As you know from previous posts, I was interested in getting a job with a bit more challenge and variety built into my day. Around a month ago I decided to do something about it and started updating my resume on all the major job sites and started spending my weekends interviewing. It was a bit tiring for me and Helen because for a while there it seemed like we had no days off to spend together, but it did pay off.
Originally the job I interviewed for was supposed to be a part time position doing desktop support for a construction company in northern phoenix. By the second interview the position turned into a full time job. I think they realized that if they hired someone to keep things running and it happened to stop after noon I wouldn't be around to fix it until the next day. The job itself sounds perfect for me and although I'm disappointed that it won't allow me to spend more time with Helen and Newton, it will allow me to build some actual technical support into my resume... something it seriously lacks at this point. I don't start until January 9th but I'll let you know how it goes.
Christmas came and went since my last post. Helen and I got some good loot, from each other and from our families so we thank everyone for that. Helen's family will be visiting with us the first week of January so that will be our delayed Christmas together. As for my family, I'll get back up there as soon as possible. The new job and being an hourly worker probably means I wont be able to come for as long a visit as I would like but the extra pay should make it a little less painful to shell out the dough.
Until I actually start, I plan to do enjoy my down time. Other than helping out around the house getting my office organized and getting my blog back up and running that is. Oh joy!
On a non-sequitur, Helen and I just watched Chronicles of Narnia and it kicked ass. I'll post more as it occurs to me, expect frequent posts until I work through my non-posting guilt. Hehe.
Hello all! It has been a while since we last posted as some of our more insistent relatives and friends have reminded us. Jason, myself and Newton contine to do well, although busy. Not a cool kind of busy where we would have neat things to post on the blog though. Just your regular everyday busy, with work and sleep. Jason's mom continues to recuperate from her injuries and is back at work. She is probably already gearing up for her usual christmas dinner which could feed a naval base. Jason and I regrettfully con't be with either family this year and will be spending the holidays at - you guessed it - work. Ugh. Please enjoy the holiday everyone and remember that even though we aren't there-we miss you and love you all. Warmest holiday wishes from Phoenix (where is still 70 degrees! :)!
P.S. Forgive Jason's lack of posts - he is working on finding a new job, maybe part-time, maybe full time, but hopefully more challenging and conducive to hanging out with Newton and pampering me!
To everybody-Jason's mom was in a bad car wreck this afternoon, Jason and I were relieved to find out that for now, she is alright. She is now home recruperating. I (Helen) of course want to put Jason on a plane home right now. As a nurse I wish I could see her for myself rather than trust that the ER staff that saw her knew what they were doing. As a daughter in law I am very worried and am trusting that Brenda knows when to ask for help. Jason is being his usual tough self and only asks that we each keep her in our thoughts (and for those who believe - prayers) as she recuperates from this experience.
Brenda- we love you and want only the best for you. Love Helen, Jason and Newton
